Thursday 4 June 2026 Macaws' CRICK Workshop The class had a fantastic time during a workshop led by a scientist from the Francis Crick Institute. She taught us all about how incredibly tiny bacteria are and amazed us with some fascinating facts. Then came the best part — she brought mini microscopes for us to explore with around the classroom! We investigated the carpet, the class plants, our jumper sleeves and even some children's hair to see what we could discover up close. There were lots of squeals, giggles and surprised faces as we uncovered a whole new microscopic world. Safe to say, the classroom had never looked so hairy, dusty and exciting before!

Friday 8 May 2026 Catherine Barr - Author Visit We were delighted to welcome author Catherine Barr to our school for a wonderful visit all about her book The Colours of Nature. She explained the inspiration behind the different colours featured in the book and shared some of her favourite animals, including the amazing pink dolphin. Catherine then gave us the chance to become illustrators ourselves, guiding us step by step as we learned how to draw the pink dolphin from her book. To make the day even more special, she kindly signed our books for us too! It was a colourful, creative, and unforgettable experience that left everyone smiling and inspired!
