Our DT curriculum aims to develop imaginative thinking in children to enable them to talk about what they like and dislike when designing and making. It will enable children to talk about how things work, and to draw and model their ideas. Throughout this curriculum children will be encouraged to select appropriate tools and techniques for making a product, whilst following safe procedures. We want children to produce creative work, exploring their ideas and recording their experiences, and to become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques; to use their imagination, creativity and experiences to produce their own art work. We want children to know about great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms.
