Today, we got to be scientists researching and classifying different plants on The Heath!

We had a scavenger hunt with lots of different flowers for us to find. We found out about flowering and non-flowering plants, and the different ways that flowers disperse their seeds. Some blow away in the wind, others have to be eaten by animals and lots rely on bees for pollination. We also discovered the functions of the different parts of the bees and how important they are for the continued growth of the nature around us. We had great fun and were so lucky with the glorious sunshine!

What a fabulous trip! The sun made all the flowers come to life and we enjoyed the trip immensely. Well done everyone. We were lucky because there wasn’t any rain. If there had been rain it would have been muddy and we wouldn’t have seen the bright colours of the flowers.
