Today, Father Andrew came to talk to us about our new RE topic: Celebrating Easter and the Pentecost.
He taught us about the Resurrection, when the women came to the tomb to clean the body of Jesus and found that it had gone. Then, angels appeared and told them not to be afraid because Jesus had risen like he said he would. Later, when Jesus appeared to the apostles he said, “Peace be with you,” to show that he forgave them and still wanted to be their friend. We also learnt about the Ascension, when Jesus went to Heaven, and Pentecost, when the apostles experienced a mighty wind, flames above their heads and the gift of foreign languages.
