This week, we have been learning about Judaism. We set up a Shabbat table in our classroom and had a Shabbat and Passover workshop with our local Rabbi who taught us about what Jewish people believe and how they worship. We tried some of the Challah bread and grape juice, which Jewish people eat on Shabbat.

We also learnt about Passover, which celebrates when the Jewish people were freed from slavery in Egypt over 3000 years ago. We found out about the Seder and the Seder plate with its special food representing different aspects of the story of Passover.

For homework, we researched another Jewish festival and designed posters to explain what the festival celebrated and the different traditions and customs for that festival.
