Yesterday class Toucans went on a fantastic trip to the Florence Nightingale Museum.
First we meet Florence Nightingale, who told us all about her life growing up and her sister Parthenope and her pet owl Athena. Some of us even pretended to be Florence’s father, mother and sister.
After meeting Florence we explored the museum finding different objects, completing quizzes and drawing about Florence’s life.
When we had finished exploring the museum, Florence brought us all together to tell us a bit more about the nurses she trained and the soldiers she and her nurses cared for. She also told us about her life after the Crimean War and when she returned home.
We learnt so much about Florence Nightingale’s life. Post your favourite fact to share with everyone.
