Condors have been reading ‘A  Christmas Carol’ for their literacy and reading learning. We have been exploring Stave 1 and the miserable Scrooge’s haunting from the spectre of his old business partner Jacob Marley. 

 

In reading, we enjoyed a wonderful lesson on intonation and brought the spooky encounter to life focusing on we could add expression for our readers enjoyment.

 

 

In our writing we had a fantastic time exploring the phantom of Marley. Inspired by Dickens description, we wrote our own version of the old acquaintances encounter, trying to make ours as tense as the original. Have a look at some writing from Ruby, Cavalli and Leo below.
