The Pufflings were so excited to talk about their costumes. They all dressed up as their favourite book characters and talked about why the chose their costume. We engaged in lots of literacy activities promoting the love and enjoyment of reading. We drew pictures of ourselves in our costume and labelled them.

There was lots of imaginative play where some of the children pretended to go to space based on the ‘Whatever next!’ Story by Jill Murphy. They designed rockets and spaceships using cardboard boxes.  Then they drew some colourful buttons and cut them and pasted them on their rocket. They also included some numbers and wrote numbers 1-10 and said “This is our countdown”. Such a great experience showing creativity, literacy and numeracy through play.
