Today marked World Science Day and Macaws to mark the occasion, we had a investigation lesson in science. We explored the properties of different materials and then conducted our own test to find out what properties each material has.
We then did a science experiment testing the absorbency of a piece of toilet paper, paper towel and kitchen roll. We explored the different step of an investigation from making predictions to ensuring a fair test and drawing conclusions. A lot of us predicted correctly that kitchen roll would be most absorbent but were surprised that the toilet paper was more absorbent than the paper towel. Many of us thought as it had the smallest surface area it would be least absorbent.
