At the Rosary, prayer and collective worship plays a fundamental part of daily school life. It allows us all to join together as one in prayer and worship.

Prayer time is a personal time of speaking with God and opening our hearts to Him. For this reason, we pray three times a day in school: before break time, before lunch time and before we leave school at the end of the day.

We want to have a brand new end-of-day prayer for the whole school and we want one of YOU to write it!

It can be a prayer of thanking God, praising God, asking God for help – it’s up to you!
The prayers that have been entered, but not chosen as the winner will be collated into a prayer book that will be given to every class in the school – so your prayer can still be read out to the class!

The only rule is that you should try to keep your prayer under 60 words – the type of prayer you write and what you include is up to you!

Here are some examples to help you…

God our Father, I come to say:
Thank you for your love today.
Thank you for my family,
and all the friends you give to me.
Guard me in the dark of night
and in the morning, send your light.
Amen

Dear God,

We really want to thank you for all we’ve done today.

Thank you for the fun times, the laughter and the play.

Thank you for the meal times, the writing and the drawing,

For each and every child that’s here, all the learning and the growing.

Come take us by your loving hand, and hold us through the night,

And when the morning sunshine comes, please fill us with your light.

Amen.

We really look forward to reading all of your prayers!
The deadline to enter your prayer is Thursday 22nd April

Enjoy!
