Today, we visited the October Gallery to explore the work of Aubrey Williams and create our own pieces of art!
First, we were art detectives, using small images from his paintings to match them to the full artworks. It was fun trying to spot the details and figure out where each piece belonged! After that, we learned how to analyse art and share our own opinions about Williams’ work. We looked closely at the colours, textures, and shapes he used, and discussed which images we preferred. Next, we created our own artwork inspired by his style. While listening to music, we painted using not just paint but also sand and flour to add texture to our pieces. To finish the day, we made colourful collages using a mix of materials and pastels.
