On Wednesday, Kingfishers went to the John Soane Museum to explore his interest in light and shadows. We learned about how Soane used light in different ways, using sky lights and reflection to maximise the feeling of brightness and size, as well as using stained glass to create mood in different rooms. Out knowledge of reflection, opacity, translucency and transparency helped us to understand his choice of materials. We really enjoyed getting to look round the museum, it was full of so many objects and artefacts and highly recommendable. Thank you to the team at John Soane for a fantastic afternoon!
