Over the past few weeks, Flamingos have been recreating our own artwork in the style of Henri Rousseau’s ‘Tiger in a Tropical Storm’.

We used watercolour paints and practised different techniques such as background washes and creating different textures to build up our final pieces. We also discussed composition and framing to ensure that the viewer’s attention is captured by the main animal. Finally, we drew on our knowledge of deforestation and the rainforest from our Topic and Literacy lessons to inspire our artwork.

We made the artwork our own by selecting our own rainforest animals and greenery to depict. Today, we did a gallery view to celebrate and feedback on our work.
