As part of our topic Ancient Greece, we’ve been looking at Greek Mythology in literacy. We learnt that Greek myths often explain certain traditions or how things came to be. The first myth we looked at was Pandora’s box. Kingfishers loved describing all the terrible things that tumbled of the box and filled the world. We created pop up boxes and wrote some fantastic descriptive pieces explaining how “…darkness shattered the light of the world like glass.”

We look forward to studying our next myth. I’ll give you a clue: it has a character who has snakes for hair!

Kingfishers, what was your favourite phrase that you used in your writing about Pandora’s box?

  2. I just want to say that Pandora’s Box is one of my ultimate favourite stories of ALL TIME! I absolutely LOVE the Greek myths and can’t wait to find out which one you will be reading next! I also can’t wait to read some of your Pandora’s Box writing on here.

  3. My favorite phrase was the voices coming from inside the box.

  4. My favourite part was when Pandora gets annoyed because the voices were calling her.And I also liked when all the shadows come out of the box.
