Kingfishers loved their Ancient Greece workshop by History Off the Page! We became part of a bustling market in the Agora of Athens during the battle of Marathon. The children got to try out some wonderful craft activities: creating mosaics, working with clay, carving soap and even making medicines to cure madness- to name but a few.
After triumph in the battle, we celebrated with a banquet in the afternoon. Slaves served us traditional food while we watched some great entertainment: Kingfishers paraded as prized Olympic athletes from Athens. We learned so much and had fun dressing up. Kingfishers would like to thank the parent volunteers for their hard work on the day.
