Our Year 3s and Year 4s had a great experience of history coming alive when we were visited by the History off the Page workshop on the 26th May 2016. We were all given Ancient Greek names and we learnt how Ancient Greeks lived – what they ate, what work they did, what they feared, how they received good or bad news from heralds that visited them, celebrations they had, awards that were presented and many more aspects of their lives.

Flamingo class Year 3s practised being soldiers, marching and defending the settlements. Our chosen commanders showed great leadership and control of the troops!!! Some Greek citizens were awarded gold leaf necklaces for good works that they had done. We learnt how to carve soap, make wax art, combine herbs to make medicine, make pottery creations and much more. In the afternoon, we had a great feast served by chosen slaves and watched each of the classes perform to each other – drama, marching and Olympians showing their skills.

It was all fabulous fun!!! Well done for all those who dressed up for the day!!
