Today we held our first ‘World Speech Day’ event. The day was such a success and the children loved it. Every child in Key Stage 2 had the chance to write their own speech based on their passion.
Over half term the children researched their speech theme and then learnt how to transform it into a speech on their return to school. Once their speech was written, they focused on the presentation skills needed.

One child from each Key Stage 2 class was nominated by their classes to represent them at a whole school assembly. Their speeches were truly incredible and inspirational.

A Speakers’ Corner was set up in the small hall so that the children could have a chance to be heard and present the speeches which they had worked so hard on. It was such a fabulous day and we are so proud of the children for all the hard work they put into their speeches.
