The first RE topic of the year for our lower KS2 children is:
‘The Christian Family’.
To begin, we have been looking at Jesus’ earthly and heavenly family, looking at bible stories such as Jesus’ visit to the temple in Luke 2:22. The children found this story very interesting, as it gave us some insight into what Jesus was like as a boy, how wise he was – even at such a young age, and also how Mary and Joseph’s reactions were so similar to that of our own parents. Looking at the story let us learn about and relate to Jesus ‘the human’ and also let us reflect on what families we are a part of.
The children loved retelling the story from Luke 2 via drama, which you can see captured in these photographs…
