This half term The Crick are launching an Online Discovery Week!!!!!!

Everyone’s a scientist this half term with the Francis Crick Institute

Become a scientist for a week, this half term with the amazing online Discovery Week from the Crick.
From 25-30 May, The Crick will be surprising and inspiring you and your family with something new every day. With crazy crafting, kitchen challenges and the chance to meet their brilliant scientists, as well as lots of downloadable resources to keep you busy.

In each day’s task there’s a hidden clue to hunt down. Keep hold of these as by the end of the week, they’ll reveal the golden word and you’ll be in for a chance to win great prizes, including a £50 Amazon voucher.

Highlights include:

–       *MONDAY**        Join scientist and bake off star Yan Tsou for some tasty science as she shows you how to decorate your own cupcake cell, using chocolate buttons and laces.
–      *FRIDAY **        Your chance to meet our scientist and virus expert, who is currently working in our Covid Lab testing samples. Get your questions ready!
–       *SATURDAY**      Get ready for some fizzy fun with our DIY science demo. Experiment alongside Ellie Horner from our education team, to create your own chemical reaction.

You might be particularly interested in meeting a scientist who is currently testing samples in our Covid Lab. The Crick will be open to questions on the Tuesday 26 May via Instagram, and they’ll be answering these questions on the Friday of half term at 11am on Instagram stories. (You’ll need a parent/carer or family member to help you with this as you have to be 13yrs old to use  Instagram).

Check out the Discovery page and tune in everyday at 11am for our daily activities on our website www.crick.ac.uk/discoveryweek or Instagram (@thefranciscrickinstitute) !
