Friday 16th September sees the launch of an Olympic inspired programme called Be the Best You Can Be! This unique programme has been developed as an educational legacy going beyond sport and far beyond the inspiration of London 2012, to inspire the youth of Britain and the rest of the world. Dr David Hemery, Olympic Champion and founder of the 21st Century Legacy which supports amazing programme, says that everyone has a spark of greatness within themselves, and this programme will motivate and empower the children to achieve their dreams.

The launch will involve Jo Mersh, world indoor Bronze medalist, Olympian and former 1000m record holder, leading an assembly at the school to tell the children her own exciting story and visiting all the classes to answer questions about her journey to success!

Each child will personalise their own Dream Book which will continue throughout the year as part of the Be the Best You Can Be programme, culminating in a celebratory event at the end of the year.

We are delighted to be able to take part in this very exciting initiative!

  1. Ahila (Ashani's mum) says:

I couldn’t agree more – everyone DOES have a spark of greatness in them. We just need to channel it outwardly in all we do. There is no dream that can’t be reached. As Walt Disney says, ‘If you can dream it, you can do it.’ I can’t wait to hear Jo Mersch speak about the motivation and discipline she tapped into, to become an Olympian! I will definitely use her story for inspiration in my life 🙂

  2. Can’t wait, if I don’t become a footballer, I want to become an Olympian.

When I am older I would like to be a Gymnast for my plan a and for my plan b I want to be a runner. Also if your plan a does not work out you still have another 25 letters in the alphabet to do different plans on .
