Over the last few years, our system of school ‘houses’ has become uneven and increasingly difficult to manage.

After much debate amongst staff and in consultation with many of the pupils we have decided to take the leap and have a total revamp of our school houses!

In order to do this in the fairest way possible, every child will be allocated a new house. The houses are named after Saints and we are encouraging all children and their families to find out as much as they can about their Saint.

We are ensuring that all siblings are now in the same house. This is to help families keep costs to a minimum as they can pass t-shirts down to younger siblings.

There is a chance that your child’s house may stay the same. If this is the case – you do not need to do anything.

If your child has changed house colour you will need a t-shirt of this colour for PE lessons and Sports Day.

We will hold a ‘swap-shop’ and ‘nearly-new’ sale in the playground after school on Monday 11th September and Tuesday 12th September where second hand t-shirts will be sold at a reduced price or you can swap t-shirts for free. Please bring in any old (but laundered) t-shirts as soon as possible or bring them to the swap shop. New t-shirts can be bought from Mrs Browne in the school office.

We understand that some of you may have purchased a new t-shirt just before the end of the summer term and therefore we are offering these families the chance to swap any brand new t-shirt for another new t-shirt of a different colour.

While we appreciate that we are asking families to get new t-shirts (and we are doing our best to limit the financial ramifications of this) we do hope that the re-allocation of houses will mean a fairer and more successful house system that our school can enjoy for many years to come!

  1. Could you please give us a list of the saints and their relevant colours. In y1 we just had the saint’s name:)

You will be able to find a list of all the saints, colours and house members on display in the small hall. You can always ask the office too! Thanks for the question!
