ROSARY COUCH TO 3K!
During the February half term, we thought it would be fun to set our families a ‘Healthy Heart’ challenge – Our very own Rosary Couch to 3K!
We are setting you the challenge of getting from your couch to 3K in 3 weeks whilst raising money for the school! You don’t have to run, jogging or a brisk walk will do and if you have very young children set yourself a 1K in 1 week challenge or 2K in 2 weeks. This is about spending time together and sharing a healthy, fun activity whilst raising funds for the school!
· Get your family sponsored – whilst having a healthy boost we can raise funds for the school! (Click here for the sponsorship form ).
· Work out the 1K-3K route that you would like to enjoy together.
· Take pictures of your progress, so that you can share your journey with our Rosary Family – we would love to able to share our families’ experience with the rest of the school.
Here is a loose plan for you to follow in order to get started, get off the couch and achieve your goal!
Day 1: A brisk 5-minute warm-up walk, then alternate 60 seconds of running, with 90 seconds of walking, for a total of 12 minutes.
Day 2: A brisk 5-minute warm-up walk, then alternate 90 seconds of running, with 2 minutes of walking, for a total of 15 minutes.
Day 3: A brisk 5-minute warm-up walk followed by 2 repetitions of the following: 90 seconds of running, 90 seconds of walking, 2 minutes of running, 3 minutes of walking.
Day 4: A brisk 5-minute warm-up walk then 3 minutes of running, 90 seconds walking, 2 minutes running, 1 minutes walking, 3 minutes running, 90 seconds walking, 2 minutes running.
Day 5: A brisk 5-minute warm-up walk, then 5 minutes running, 2 minutes walking, 5 minutes running, 2 minutes walking, 5 minutes running.
