After studying WWII in their History lessons this term, Condors Class having been designing and building Morrison Air Raid Shelters in their DT lessons. The class has been learning about structural designs and building techniques to create effective shelters that Londoners would have needed during the Blitz in 1940.

    This was so fuuuunnnnnnn! I cant wait to work more on this project in DT lessons. I adios learnt about butress’ the materials used to build a morrison shelter and the things you would need. I adios liked eating the shreddies we used for sandbags!!!

    This lesson was amazing! I used my stan smith shoebox for the shelter. I found out just the shoebox was enough but I brought thousands of cardboard?. I have to say that the fact of designing something is really cool.

    We used different techniques and found out the triangle is the strongest shape but the arch or the rectangle is the best shape for the bomb shelter.

    The Blitz, which means lightning in German,bombed England in 1940. Hitler send his planes whenever he wanted so people stood on roof tops to see their arrival.

    Bomb shelters in britain were used to protect people like you and me from terrible bomb attacks. The air raid alarm signaled when the Germans would attack. I guess it was my part in the assembly so I now some things…
