Father Oliver visited the Snowy Owls today to talk about our new RE topic for this term ‘Jesus the Messiah’. We spoke about how different Jesus was to the people’s expectations. He didn’t sit on the throne, live in a palace and have an army. He was born in a stable with a poor family. At the start of Holy Week, Palm Sunday, Jesus was welcomed to Jerusalem with thousands of people greeting him. However, at the end of Holy Week, people were shouting for Jesus to be crucified. We also spoke about how Jesus saved the sins of the world by dying on the cross and rising again.

After an interesting conversation, the Snowy Owls had some fantastic questions for Father Oliver, one of the most complicated being what God’s real name was. We found out that it was so Holy that we couldn’t say it. The Snowy Owls found out many new things during their topic talk; these things will be very helpful in the future!
