Tyger, Tyger

This week, we have been re-writing William Blake’s poem Tyger, Tyger which features in our class book – Running Wild by Michael Morpurgo.

We adapted the poem to write instead about Oona, the beloved elephant who accompanies Will on his jungle adventure in Morpurgo’s story. We made sure to keep some of the key features of the original poem such as repetition, alliteration and old English words. However, we added our own spins through different alliteration, adjectives and rhymes.

We hope you enjoy our poetry!
