Snowy Owls – Thursday 23rd April

Good morning Snowy Owls!

Today is the day of our Zoom meeting! In this meeting we will be having a little catch-up and you can tell/show me some of the things you’ve been getting up to in the past few weeks. Your group time and login details have been sent out on Parents Hub – email me if you didn’t get that message.

I can see that a few of you have already joined up to Google Classroom (well done!). If you haven’t joined up yet could you please try and do that today. A document was sent out on Parents Hub giving clear step-by-step instructions on how to sign in. If you didn’t receive these instructions or you need your USO login then please email me and I’l try and help you out as best as I can!

A lot of you have been working really hard the past few days and it is great to see your positive and hard working attitudes. Harry made a super climate change poster:

Both Terezia and Ryan worked very hard and completed their Maths work adding and subtracting decimals:              Chloe carried out some excellent research into how the days of the weeks got their names, as well as a poster for heroes today:

Sofia completed her comprehension along with a super still-life drawing of an object in her living room.

I hope you all got on well with the decimal practice yesterday. We are going to continue our work on decimals today by looking at Complements to 1 and Adding Decimals – Crossing the Whole. Please follow this link and complete Lesson 3 and Lesson 4: Make sure you watch the video before you complete the task.

If you finish this but still want more decimal practice, I have attached and extra challenge worksheet for you to try out: Complements to 1

Today we will be doing some SPAG revision. We have covered everything within the worksheets before, but if you can’t remember something then you can email me to check. Do as much of it as you can: SPAG check

I will attach a SPAG overview so you can see what you should know by Year 5 and identify any areas that you are not completely confident in – SPAG Overview If you have any questions then feel free to email me and  will help you.

In RE we will be learning about Jesus’ Resurrection and how he sacrificed himself in order to save all of us. This led me to think of so many people in the world today who are carrying out sacrifices. I would like you to write a prayer for anyone who you believe is sacrificing something at this time. Perhaps it’s key workers in hospitals, care homes, supermarkets. Perhaps it’s elderly people or very young people who aren’t too sure what is going on. Perhaps you want to pray for yourself and your family. Think deeply and construct a prayer for those committing sacrifices today.

Have a great day Snowy Owls! I look forward to seeing you all in the Zoom meetings later!

Email me if you have any questions about anything.

Miss Quigley 🙂
