Today we visited St Dominic’s Church. Father Andrew showed us many of the objects that we learnt about during R.E. at school last week. We saw the Lectern, the Tabernacle, the Altar, the Organ and we even sat in some of the pews!

Father Andrew then showed us the Baptismal font and explained the special Sacrament. We know that water washes away our sins. When we are baptised, we become part of the Christian family and God lives in us. God becomes our father and this is why we say the ‘Our Father’ prayer. Father Andrew also showed us the Chrism oil and we learnt how the white garment is a sign of holiness.

Before we left, we were able the see the Joyful Mysteries altars. We especially loved looking at ‘The Presentation’ as we have learnt about this at school.
